Postpartum Doula
My goal as your postpartum doula is to
ease the transition of your growing family by supporting, nurturing, and guiding.
DOULA SUPPORT
-
Household
My support within the household might include light housekeeping, dishwashing, laundry, bottle preparation, watching over your older children and pets, and other tasks that will assist the family unit to feel in order.
-
Emotional
Processing your labor and delivery on a mental and emotional level is a crucial aspect of postpartum recovery. I'll listen to your birth story and spend time with you to help you process and come to terms with what happened during pregnancy and delivery. I also have access to mental health options to prevent anxiety or postpartum depression and other resources in case of the onset of them.
-
Physical
My job as a postpartum doula is to ensure your comfort and nourishment for a healthy physical recovery. I may take over duties so you can rest and assist with feeding positioning. I can also help with cooking meal prepping, or setting a “meal train”
-
Guidance and Advocacy
Parents often feel overwhelmed by the information they receive and the decisions they must make. Being informed is essential to making conscious choices. I'll connect you with evidence-based resources to assist your decision-making and serve as your advocate to ensure your voice is heard and you and your family make conscious choices.

Frequent Asked Questions
-
A postpartum doula is someone who tends to the informational, emotional, and physical needs of a postpartum parent and family. Postpartum doulas are expertly trained in postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, infant care, family changes, and providing non-judgmental and evidence-based support to your entire family. A postpartum doula helps you learn how to care for your new baby and how to navigate changing family dynamics, and does everything possible to ensure that you have the space to bond with your baby. They can assist with light housework, childcare, meal preparation, and will help to make sure you are well rested and nourished.
-
While a nanny or baby nurse cares only for your baby, a postpartum doula cares for both parents and baby in the tender and often difficult time following birth. This means that along with helping you become the best parents for your baby, your doula is also knowledgeable about a parent's unique needs and anxieties in the postpartum period and is able to facilitate a smooth emotional and physical transition to parenthood. Postpartum doulas are trained in newborn care and provide the help or encouragement you need to learn critical parenting skills.
